My very first Mother’s Day is right around the corner! Being a mom has been the biggest blessing, and my proudest accomplishment. I love my little guy (and my handsome hubby). I truly don’t need a shower of gifts and attention on Mother’s Day, I just want some QT with my guys! But with Mother’s Day coming up, I wanted to share a list of some thoughtful, unique, and downright quirky gift ideas – just for fun! I curated this list from a few others I found floating around on the web, and picked some of my faves to share with you. Maybe one of these would be perfect for the mama bear in your life!
What do you think? Which one is your favorite? What’s the best Mother’s Day gift or gesture you’ve ever received? Tell me about it!
PS. All of these goodies were available when I wrote this article… but I can’t control inventory. This list is just for fun! If something’s out-of-stock, no worries, just keep shopping!
Ahhh, a new year. I love turning over the calendar – it's like a fresh start. It's a chance to refocus my priorities both personally and professionally. I'm still adjusting to mompreneur life and the constant juggling act of being a new mom and business owner. As I sit down to reflect on 2016 and plan for 2017, I'm more excited than ever to start tackling new goals that will make me a better mom and business owner.
Growing My Business
I create a ton of custom work for my clients. I love taking their visions and turning them into stationery packages that reflect their unique styles. However, I also offer a handful of pre-designed wedding invitations available for quick and easy ordering at a lower price point. In 2017 I'm committed to expanding my selection of pre-designed options so that I can provide selections for all types of brides – rustic, boho, classic, glamorous and more!
One of my biggest passions is giving back. In 2017 I'm committed to give back more through my business. I've been blessed with this amazing talent, and I'd like to use it to support organizations with missions near and dear to my heart. I want to work with organizations that are:
In order to give as much as possible to my clients, I need to take care of my biggest business asset... ME! My family is what fuels me, so in 2017 I'm looking forward to:
What are your goals for the new year?
Well, it’s that time of year when you'll undoubtedly be invited to a variety of holiday soirees. What's the right way to express your gratitude? Hosting a holiday get-together takes a lot of time, energy and effort. Bringing the hostess a gift that appeals to the person's personality or interests is a thoughtful gesture of appreciation. Keep in mind, it’s all about a personal touch, not the price. Great ideas include:
You'll want to include a handwritten note with your gift, so be sure to keep personal stationery on hand.
Ah, the holidays. What better time of year to express your affection and gratitude to loved ones? But between decorating, parties, buying gifts, and making sure you don't lose your mind, the thought of writing a sincere note can seem daunting. Don't fret... I've compiled 20 ideas for holiday tidings, whether you want to say seasons greetings to a friend, co-worker, or your dear aunt Martha.
Once you've found the perfect message, order your custom card to bring it to life. I'll take your idea and turn it into a truly one-of-a-kind card that will delight your family and friends.
I get it; life is busy. Since having my son, I barely have enough time to sleep and drink coffee while it's still hot. Seriously, what's sleep?
That's why now, more than ever, I want to help make your life as easy as possible. While email may seem like a quick and easy alternative, snail mail cards are more personal than electronic holiday greetings. With this no-fuss method, life will never be too busy to send warm holiday cheer.
Picking out the perfect holiday card can be overwhelming with so many options and shopping sites. Choosing a vendor that you know – and knows you – will cut out the time you spend searching for that right design. As a mom, I know your time is valuable. Wouldn’t you rather spend your free minutes playing with your little ones? Invest in someone who allows you to enjoy more precious moments.
Let me take care of stuffing, adding postage, printing the return and mailing addresses on the envelopes, and mailing your holiday cards.
Remember: you'll want to order by the first week in December so the cards are ready to mail before Christmas!
The holidays are busy enough. Place your trust in me to ease the stress of sending holiday cards, while you enjoy a tasty latte, a good book, or your kiddos!
Six years ago when I started Freebird Paperie, I thought there was nothing I could love as much as creating high-quality products for all of you.
Then 3 months ago, my husband Zach and I welcomed the cutest baby boy, William James Stotter. It's a constant juggling act – balancing being a new mom, wife, and business owner. At the same time, this little guy fuels the drive for my business. I've found renewed purpose in providing the best future for him. I need to show him anything is possible if he sets his mind to it.
So during November, a month centered around thankfulness, I want to take this time to sincerely thank each and every one of my clients. Without you, I wouldn't be able to pursue this journey – this life – as a mompreneur. Thank you, from all of us.
Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday, May 8th! Don't miss telling your mama how much you love her.
Freebird Paperie's Mother's Day cards are available on the Etsy shop. The first features florals and says the standard "Happy Mother's Day!" on the outside.
The second option is for the mom with a bit of a sense of humor! It says "Mom, I am amazed that you raised a child without Google. Job very well done." ;)
Both cards are blank inside for your personal greeting! 4.25" x 5.5" when folded (8.5" x 5.5" open). Envelope is included and compliments the card's colors. Packaged in a plastic recyclable sleeve (#3 plastic). Be sure to order by Tuesday, May 3rd to guarantee delivery in time for Mother's Day!
